The Barrett Summer Scholars (BSS) program provides students with the opportunity to experience college firsthand and prepare for enrollment and success at Arizona State University and Barrett, the Honors College. The program is designed for academically-talented and motivated students entering the 8th, 9th, and 10th grade in fall 2019. The residential program invites students to live on campus, engage in college-level coursework, and participate in a community of peers from across the state.

Be the change you want to see in the world. The César E. Chávez Leadership Institute is a no-cost, one-week, residential summer leadership program at ASU for 60 high school students entering grades 11 and 12. This one-of-a-kind experience embraces community service, develops leadership skills and encourages civic engagement.
The program also fosters academic and personal success within a collaborative peer environment aimed at helping students develop critical thinking skills and to leveraging these skills inside and outside the classroom.
Inspiring and motivating students to participate in the civic, economic and cultural life of their community, The César E. Chávez Leadership Institute seeks to improve access to higher education for Arizona high school sophomores and juniors by providing, at no cost to students, a variety of enriching experiences emphasizing leadership development and civic engagement, while advocating for the completion of high school, attending college and educational opportunities at Arizona State University. Since 1995 more than 1,300 students have benefited from participating in the program.

Gettysburg College Summer ProgramsGettysburg College is excited to offer several opportunities for high school juniors and sophomores to attend academic camps over the summer months. Princeton Summer Journalism Program - For High School JuniorsThe application for the Princeton Summer Journalism Program (PSJP), a free journalism and college preparatory program for current high school juniors from low-income backgrounds, is now open and due by Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:59 PM EST.
About the Program
During the intensive 10-day summer program, students engage in workshops, lectures, and activities led by Princeton professors, professional journalists, and PSJP alumni on Princeton's campus. The program culminates in the publication of the student-produced newspaper, the Princeton Summer Journal. During the senior year, students are also matched with a volunteer college counselor -- a professional journalist or program alum, who will guide them through the college application process.

Eligibility: To apply, students must be:
The student must be eligible for Free/Reduced-Priced Lunch.
The student is eligible for a SAT or ACT fee waiver.
